A model for the simulation of downy mildew was developed and calibrated on Sangiovese grapevine variety in Tuscany. The possibility to extend the application of this model was evaluated in this paper by comparing model simulation with real data collected in Slovenia and Greece. The results pointed out that the relevant differences in weather conditions affected model performance. Accordingly, model should be calibrated and tested to adapt its simulation to the different epidemiological conditions.

Abstract

A model for the simulation of downy mildew was developed and calibrated on Sangiovese grapevine variety in Tuscany.
