The paper introduces the design of a deployable steel roof structure which is thought to cover a sport arena. Referring to opening/closing method, the structure adopts the pantograph system developed in last years by the Deployable Structure Laboratory (DSL) in Cambridge. The structure consists of a steel lattice dome, where space curved beams, appropriately joined through cylindrical hinges, allow the structure to change configuration. The structure behaviour has been analyzed under vertical loads (dead loads, snow) and under wind and earthquake actions. Moreover, the paper discusses the basic elements of construction and functioning.

Abstract
The paper introduces the design of a deployable steel roof structure which is thought to cover a sport arena. Referring to opening/closing method, the structure adopts the pantograph system developed in last years by the Deployable Structure Laboratory (DSL) in Cambridge. The structure consists of a steel lattice dome, where space curved beams, appropriately joined through cylindrical hinges, allow the structure to change configuration. The structure behaviour has been analyzed under vertical loads (dead loads, snow) and under wind and earthquake actions. Moreover, the paper discusses the basic elements of construction and functioning.I documenti in FLORE sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
