In the Arberesh varieties, the middle reflexive has a specialized inflection that is distinct from the active one, as generally in the Albanian varieties; in some dialects spoken in Basilicata, the active and middle paradigms partially coincide, thus giving rise to an interesting phenomenon of syncretism. This article studies the phonological and morphosyntactic aspects of this phenomenon.

Abstract
