The crystallinity of naproxen in solid combinations with maltoheptaose was assessed by differential scanning calorimetry supported by X-ray diffractometry. Cogrinding induced a decrease of drug crystallinity to an extent depending on the grinding time. Interactions in solutions between naproxen and maltoheptaose were studied by fluorescence spectroscopy, phase-solubilirty analysis and molecular modelling. Maltoheptaose can wrap up naproxen, taking on a cyclic conformation and forming a pseudo inclusion complex.
