Sun orientation was analysed for the first time in Coleoptera Staphilinidae from river banks under natural conditions and their responses to artificial lights in the laboratory throughout the night-day cyle. Both species were phototactic negative, showing a tendency to compensate the movement of sun azymuth throughout the day. At night they confirmed the Talitrus model of sun azymuth movement's compensation.

Abstract
Sun orientation was analysed for the first time in Coleoptera Staphilinidae from river banks under natural conditions and their responses to artificial lights in the laboratory throughout the night-day cyle. Both species were phototactic negative, showing a tendency to compensate the movement of sun azymuth throughout the day. At night they confirmed the Talitrus model of sun azymuth movement's compensation.I documenti in FLORE sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
