The International Summer School of Isotope Geology: frontiers in petrogenesis and magmatology and applications to archaeometry and environmental sciences, was organized by the Italian National Group of Petrologists (g.n.p. - Gruppo Nazionale di Petrografia) and by the Italian Association of Volcanology (a.i.v.), with the support of the Italian Mineralogical Society (s.i.m.p.), Italian Society of Geochemistry (So.Ge.I.), Italian National Group for Cultural Heritage and Environment (G.A.Be.C.). Financial support was provided by the Thermo Scientific, the Department of Earth Sciences (d.s.t.) of the University of Florence, the Department of Earth Sciences and Resources (Dip.Te.Ris.) of the University of Genoa, the Italian National Research Council through the Institute of Geosciences and Earth Resources (i.g.g.-c.n.r.) of Pisa, the Department of Earth Sciences of the University of Milan, and the Department of Earth Sciences of the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia.
