The constitutive behaviour of a polymer material, usually employed as the interlayer of laminated glass, is investigated, in order to reproduce, as a successive step, the post crack behaviour of glass plates. Uniaxial tension tests have been performed both with constant load and with constant strain rate and relaxation steps, in order to identify the elastic part of deformation. Some elastic constitutive models, able to schematize the behaviour of the polymer, have been analyzed and calibrated fitting, by a least squares technique, the experimental tests.

Abstract

The constitutive behaviour of a polymer material, usually employed as the interlayer of laminated glass, is investigated, in order to reproduce, as a successive step, the post crack behaviour of glass plates. Uniaxial tension tests have been performed both with constant load and with constant strain rate and relaxation steps, in order to identify the elastic part of deformation. Some elastic constitutive models, able to schematize the behaviour of the polymer, have been analyzed and calibrated fitting, by a least squares technique, the experimental tests.
