Pan coating techniques with insoluble polymers (Eudragit E30D and cellulose acetate phtalate) were examined for delaying the drug reease rate from hydroxypropyl-methylcellulose matrix tablets. Ketoprofen and sodium meclofenamate were used as model drugs. The in vitro release profiles form each formulation were studied by the USP basket method. Coating with Eudragit (mixed with 5% PEG 400) gave the best results; however, also cellulose acetate phtalate showed interesting unexpected results, being effective not only as gastro-resistent but also as delaying agent.

Abstract
Pan coating techniques with insoluble polymers (Eudragit E30D and cellulose acetate phtalate) were examined for delaying the drug reease rate from hydroxypropyl-methylcellulose matrix tablets. Ketoprofen and sodium meclofenamate were used as model drugs. The in vitro release profiles form each formulation were studied by the USP basket method. Coating with Eudragit (mixed with 5% PEG 400) gave the best results; however, also cellulose acetate phtalate showed interesting unexpected results, being effective not only as gastro-resistent but also as delaying agent.I documenti in FLORE sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
