The contribution is related to the experience of HOSPITALS project - funded by EU Commission - with particular reference to the New Meyer Children's Hospital, built in Florence. The building integrates efficient energy strategies to reach thermal and visual comfort, with special attention to children. The project focused on the detailed planning and design of the healthcare environment and, particularly, the psychological effects of environment.
