Impiego del radar meteorologico per il monitoraggio del bacino dell'Arno

In this paper the problems related to the use of a real-time monitoring system, employed in catchments characterized by a short response time and a high flashflood risk, are briefly outlined. The possibilities offered by the integrated use of a meteorological radar are specifically highlighted. In this respect the results of some research studies, in progress within the Arno Project, are briefly explained. Such studies aim at improving the estimation of the precipitation space-time distribution by applying a meteorological radar system.
