Among methods proposed for the study of the activity of metabolic systems in man, the measurement of 6β-OH-cortisol in urine has been suggested as a possible alternative to the direct measurement of the metabolism of exogenous chemicals. Until recently, however, methods for the determination of 6β-OH-cortisol in urine were cumbersome and unreliable, being based upon paper chromatography or chemical oxidation followed by gas chromatography. A method based on liquid-liquid chromatography has been recently described by Roots et al. We have independently developed an alternative liquid-liquid chromatography fractionation procedure that has some advantages over the published one, and this will be described here

Abstract
Among methods proposed for the study of the activity of metabolic systems in man, the measurement of 6β-OH-cortisol in urine has been suggested as a possible alternative to the direct measurement of the metabolism of exogenous chemicals. Until recently, however, methods for the determination of 6β-OH-cortisol in urine were cumbersome and unreliable, being based upon paper chromatography or chemical oxidation followed by gas chromatography. A method based on liquid-liquid chromatography has been recently described by Roots et al. We have independently developed an alternative liquid-liquid chromatography fractionation procedure that has some advantages over the published one, and this will be described hereI documenti in FLORE sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
