One of the most recent and interesting fields of application of magnetic resonance (MR) is the possibility of measuring the degree of diffusion of water molecules in biological tissues in vivo. Diffusion is one of the three flow parameters of the MR signal, together with macroscopic flow and perfusion, which introduces new elements to the MR study, but also new difficulties. The aim of this study is to present the phenomenon of diffusion, the sequences with which it may be assessed and the relevant semeiotics.

Abstract
One of the most recent and interesting fields of application of magnetic resonance (MR) is the possibility of measuring the degree of diffusion of water molecules in biological tissues in vivo. Diffusion is one of the three flow parameters of the MR signal, together with macroscopic flow and perfusion, which introduces new elements to the MR study, but also new difficulties. The aim of this study is to present the phenomenon of diffusion, the sequences with which it may be assessed and the relevant semeiotics.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
