VALUTAZIONE FUNZIONALE A DISTANZA DELLA FUNDOPLICATIO ANTERIORE SECONDO ROSSETTI

Long-term results of Rossetti’s anterior fundoplication were analyzed by means of intraluminal esophageal manometry, 24-hour combined esophageal and gastric pH monitoring, and endoscopy. The manometric data revealed that this procedure significantly increases the lower esophageàl sphincter resting pressure; this effect is long-lasting. The pH test showed the absence of pathological GER episodes. The endoscopy demonstrated the improvement of the degree of esophagitis. For these reasons, Rossetti’s fundoplication must be considered an effective procedure for the surgical treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease.
