This paper deals with some methodological proposals for defining homogeneous territorial zones which may be useful for agricultural objectives and policies. Two main problems must be faced coping with this objective. The first is to find a suitable spatial unit which may reconcile the information coming from statistical and administrative archives that generally make use of diverse territorial units. The second is to find a suitable algorithm in order to perform spatial clustering on the basis of more than one variable. In this work we present a first application based on Upper Level Set scan statistic method (Patil and Taillie, 2004) in a bivariate context.

Abstract
This paper deals with some methodological proposals for defining homogeneous territorial zones which may be useful for agricultural objectives and policies. Two main problems must be faced coping with this objective. The first is to find a suitable spatial unit which may reconcile the information coming from statistical and administrative archives that generally make use of diverse territorial units. The second is to find a suitable algorithm in order to perform spatial clustering on the basis of more than one variable. In this work we present a first application based on Upper Level Set scan statistic method (Patil and Taillie, 2004) in a bivariate context.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
