A general approach for designing interference-fit joints constituted of elastic-plastic components is presented. The wide applicability range of the method was achieved removing restrictive assumptions about material characterization and yield criterion, which were included in previous theoretical models. Because of the general approach, the model is solved with an iterative procedure. The theory has been successfully validated by a result comparison with finite element models.

Abstract
A general approach for designing interference-fit joints constituted of elastic-plastic components is presented. The wide applicability range of the method was achieved removing restrictive assumptions about material characterization and yield criterion, which were included in previous theoretical models. Because of the general approach, the model is solved with an iterative procedure. The theory has been successfully validated by a result comparison with finite element models.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
