From recent statistics concerning accidents that involved Powered Two Wheeler (PTW), is possible to understand how important and useful can be systems able to detect dangerous situation for the rider. Several studies started in the last years, aimed to develop these type of systems. These studies provided positive outputs in terms of feasibility and integration on PTWs, but at the same time they highlighted that these systems are completely useless if the Human Machine Interface is not properly designed. In the article the experimental results of an activity to characterize the distribution and amplitude of the pressure exerted on an handle, while riding a bike, are presented. Lastly, an Haptic Human Machine Interface (HMI) for Powered Two Wheeler (PTW), based on the previous data, is designed.
