Digital techniques for image processing and automatic classification in remote sensing applications are described. Digital filters, suitable for radar noise reduction, are first described. Some algorithms using the Bayes rule or block distance for the automatic classification and discrimination of agricultural crops are presented. Microwave images, obtained by employing synthetic aperture radars and collected during the European SAR campaign, are used to evaluate the performance of these processing algorithms.

Abstract
Digital techniques for image processing and automatic classification in remote sensing applications are described. Digital filters, suitable for radar noise reduction, are first described. Some algorithms using the Bayes rule or block distance for the automatic classification and discrimination of agricultural crops are presented. Microwave images, obtained by employing synthetic aperture radars and collected during the European SAR campaign, are used to evaluate the performance of these processing algorithms.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
