Pedroni,Med.Phys.22(1995)353].Aprotonimagingdevicecanimprovetheaccuracyofproton radiation therapytreatmentplanningandthealignmentofthepatientwiththeprotonbeam.Our collaborationhasdevelopedapCRprototypeconsistingofasiliconmicrostriptrackerandacalorimeter to detecttheresidualenergy[R.Shulte,etal.,IEEETrans.Nucl.Sci.51(2004)866–872].Inthis contributionwewillshowsomeresultsobtainedtestingthefront-endboardofthetrackerand measurementsperformedatLNS(LaboratoriNazionalidelSud)andinLLUMC(LomaLindaUniversity MedicalCentre)using60and200MeVprotonbeamstotestthecalorimeter.
