Some recent advances of polarimetric radar signal processing are reviewed. The reported results mainly refer to research carried out at the University of Florence. The considered topics are: a new technique for single-hit measurement of the entire target scattering matrix, a multipolarisation receiver for improving target detection, a new adaptive non-linear polarisation filter for improving target detection in the presence of ground clutter, polarisation-Doppler resolution of interfering signals in a dual polarisation radar receiver through maximum likelihood parameter estimators.

Abstract

Some recent advances of polarimetric radar signal processing are reviewed. The reported results mainly refer to research carried out at the University of Florence. The considered topics are: a new technique for single-hit measurement of the entire target scattering matrix, a multipolarisation receiver for improving target detection, a new adaptive non-linear polarisation filter for improving target detection in the presence of ground clutter, polarisation-Doppler resolution of interfering signals in a dual polarisation radar receiver through maximum likelihood parameter estimators.
