The X-ray structure and the magnetic properties of a new bpca-based complex are discussed, bpca(-) being the bis(2-pyridylcarbonyl)aminate anion. The bimetallic [Cu(bpca)(2)] [Co(hfac)(3)] complex crystallises in the triclinic space group P-1. Its structure exhibits well separated segregated stacks of [Cu(bpca)(2)] and [Co(hfac)(3)] entities. Within their respective columns the Co and Cu centres are separated by 11.52(9) Angstrom, implying that the material does not evidence the desired ferro- or antiferromagnetic interactions.

Abstract
The X-ray structure and the magnetic properties of a new bpca-based complex are discussed, bpca(-) being the bis(2-pyridylcarbonyl)aminate anion. The bimetallic [Cu(bpca)(2)] [Co(hfac)(3)] complex crystallises in the triclinic space group P-1. Its structure exhibits well separated segregated stacks of [Cu(bpca)(2)] and [Co(hfac)(3)] entities. Within their respective columns the Co and Cu centres are separated by 11.52(9) Angstrom, implying that the material does not evidence the desired ferro- or antiferromagnetic interactions.I documenti in FLORE sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
