In this paper the authors present the interim results of a numerical and experimental study about the behaviour of LGs constructed using PVB interlayers. LG specimens constructed with three glass plies have been designed in order to perform push-out tests, where the PVB layers are loaded in pure shear. Firstly a FEM model has been calibrated on experimental results of some preliminary creep tests performed on plates subjected to four-point bending. Then the same model was used to predict the results of the push-out tests.

Abstract

In this paper the authors present the interim results of a numerical and experimental study about the behaviour of LGs constructed using PVB interlayers. LG specimens constructed with three glass plies have been designed in order to perform push-out tests, where the PVB layers are loaded in pure shear. Firstly a FEM model has been calibrated on experimental results of some preliminary creep tests performed on plates subjected to four-point bending. Then the same model was used to predict the results of the push-out tests.
