For the diffusion an improvement of the organic agriculture, it’s very important that the consumers know the origin of the organic products and how they are produced. The organic meals in the school refectories and the city farms can help children and their families to know the organics products and the natural procedures utilised to cultivate the organic crops and to rear the organic animals in the respect of the EU Regulation. The present review will introduce the city farms movement, from the definition, through its history, till the new forms of social farming, which are spreading in these last years in our Country. A case study on a city farm created and conduced by two young agronomists from our Agriculture Faculty will close the review.

Abstract

For the diffusion an improvement of the organic agriculture, it’s very important that the consumers know the origin of the organic products and how they are produced. The organic meals in the school refectories and the city farms can help children and their families to know the organics products and the natural procedures utilised to cultivate the organic crops and to rear the organic animals in the respect of the EU Regulation.
