Summary This research aimed to investigate the factor structure of an Italian version of the Sociocultural Attitudes Towards Appearance Questionnaire-3 (SATAQ-3) through exploratory factor analysis (N = 322) and to examine convergent validity of the scale (N = 159) with adolescent males. Results of factor analysis indicated a four-factor structure (Information, Pressures, Internalization-General, Internalization-Athlete) confirming the original structure of the scale. Cronbach’s alphas were quite high for the four subscales (Information = .89, Pressures = .83, Internalization-General = .93, Internalization-Athlete = .84), and convergent validity was found to be good. The SATAQ-3 seems useful to measure different aspects of sociocultural influences on adolescent males’ body image in the Italian context.
