A two-stage streaker sampler was exposed to collect size-fractionated aerosol samples in Genova. Samples were analysed by particle induced X-ray emission (PIXE) at the Van Der Graaff facility in the INFN of Florence. Hourly concentration of elements from Na to Pb were measured both for the fine (aerodynamic diameter, D ae<2.5 μm) and coarse (2.5<D ae<10 μm) fraction. Data were analysed by applying the time series and principal component analysis (PCA) and the source profiles by inique ratios (SPUR) technique. Correlations with atmospheric parameters (wind direction and speed, pressure, temperature, etc) have been studied. A picture of the aerosol composition of Genova and of its sources is presented.
