Abstract

The taphonomic study of the faunal remains has allowed the highlighting of a special situation, different from the distribution of the rare pottery and stones. In the first place, while the pottery is extremely fragmentary, the faunal remains are in larger pieces but are especially concentrated in accumulations. We are dealing with a very large majority of Bos remains, with a notable disregard for other species, for example, Sus, deer and goats. The presence of Canis, rather rare, is significant in that it reveals fauna which is very unusual in the local setting. The quantity of Bos may be related, in our opinion, to the ox grave of Semitella, a Bell Beaker settlement not so far from the Via Bruschi site
