Firmare una carta del donatore: Il ruolo delle emozioni e delle componenti dell’atteggiamento

Summary This research aims to highlight the psychological processes underlying the choice of signing a donor card, focusing on the following variables: non-cognitive beliefs, attitude components, emotions. Participants were 100 adult men and women (mean age = 40, SD = 13.14). Logistic regression analysis shows that the choice of signing a donor card is influenced by medical mistrust, an affective component of attitudes, and negative and positive emotions such as fear and trust. Non-cognitive variables are more likely to influence specific emotions elicited by the idea of becoming organ donors, rather than to have a direct effect on the target behavior. These findings represent a point of reference for planning effective social communications and campaigns targeting organ donors.
