The experimental studies conducted by on the subject at the Dipartimento di Costruzioni e Restauro of the University of Florence want to expand and deepen the knowledge about the earthen building material to rationalize the way of using it. The aim is to demonstrate on scientific bases earth's mechanical characteristics and, even with the use of additives preferably eco-friendly, to optimize the performances of durability and strength in order to achieve a standard of quality guaranteed.
