In structures strengthened with glued carbon fiber composites, failure often occurs by debonding, which takes place when the shear capacity is reached and the sheet is detached from the substrate. In order to better understand the behavior of the external reinforcements glued on ancient masonry, an experimental investigation on the debonding process is proposed by means of single-lap pull-out shear tests on both clay bricks and masonry specimens. Strains along the bonded length and slips at the ends of the sheet were measured, making thus computable the experimental local bond-slip relationship. Furthermore, the influence of mortar joints is investigated comparing the behavior of brick and masonry specimens.

Abstract
In structures strengthened with glued carbon fiber composites, failure often occurs by debonding, which takes place when the shear capacity is reached and the sheet is detached from the substrate. In order to better understand the behavior of the external reinforcements glued on ancient masonry, an experimental investigation on the debonding process is proposed by means of single-lap pull-out shear tests on both clay bricks and masonry specimens. Strains along the bonded length and slips at the ends of the sheet were measured, making thus computable the experimental local bond-slip relationship. Furthermore, the influence of mortar joints is investigated comparing the behavior of brick and masonry specimens.I documenti in FLORE sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
