Thrombophilia has been investigated in different atherosclerotic localization, but its role has not yet been defined. Aim of our study was to evaluate the weight of the most common inherited and acquired thrombophilic risk factors – factor V Leiden, prothrombin polymorphism, homocysteine (Hcy) and lipoprotein (a)[Lp(a)]– in a large cohort of Italian patients with different clinical manifestation of atherosclerotic disease.

Abstract
Thrombophilia has been investigated in different atherosclerotic localization, but its role has not yet been defined.
