Cold cesium atoms released from a magneto-optical trap were investigated in Lambda-type configurations of hyperfine levels of the D-2 line. Electromagnetically induced transparency (EIT) was observed and studied as a function of relevant parameters of the pump-probe lasers. Full resolution of the Zeeman degeneracy was obtained for the first time through the different dependence of the Autler-Townes effect.
