The exact analysis of the efficiency of a new high-frequency class-E resonant dc/dc converter is proposed along with the experimental verification. The converter consists of a class-E inverter and a class-E full-wave rectifier. An expression for the converter efficiency at any loaded quality factor of the class-E inverter are derived in a closed form as a function of the output current and other operating parameters. Plots of the measured and calculated converter efficiencies are given for a 75 W output power with 5 V output voltage at 1 MHz.
