Pyroelectric sensors are suitable devices for modulated radiation detection of hot bodies, with spectral emission in the typical IR range of λ=(2-10)μm. For remote temperature control a high responsivity and low noise sensors are required. We discuss the advantages of using an electroptic (EO) modulator of the emitted radiation in the perspective of the realisation of a compact device useful for industrial applications.

Abstract
