Le malte nel restauro di edifice storici in Toscana:pratica di cantiere

This paper discusses the theoretical and practical aspects for the realization of restoration mortar that must meet requirements of compatibility with the materials on which they are applied, but on the other hand must take into account all the other aspects related to environmental conditions of the restoration yard. Starting from these assumptions, two case studies are presented: the restoration of the Palazzo Pubblico in Siena and the Palazzo dei Priori in Volterra. It is clear the necessity to reach a fair compromise between the theoretical and practical needs (environmental conditions, inability to find local materials, etc..) conjugated to the technical ability and experience of the restores practically involved in the intervention
