Single crystal polarized electronic spectra of the complex bis(N-t-butylpyrrole-2-carbaldimino)cobalt(II)

Single crystal polarized electronic spectra of the complex bis(N-t-butylpyrrole-2-carbaldimino)cobalt (II) containing the elongated tetrahedral chromophore [CoN4] have been measured and the bands assigned on the basis of D2d symmetry. Ligand field calculations, in terms of crystal field and angular overlap parameters, have been reported. The donor strength of bidentate conjugated ligands in inner complexes has been discussed.
