The population of the City of Morelia has increased threefold in the last 20 years. The growth has increased the geomorphologic risks (landslides of mass and blocks) and hydrologic risks (flooding in residential zones). We analyze and update these risks for two major areas of the city: the so-called slope of La Paloma and the Chiquito River. We describe the characteristics of these zones, including risk factors for the residential zones surrounding them.
