The history of radio communication is presented till the description of the first land sea microwave links realized by Guglielmo Marconi in 1932. The early microwave applications and first use of word 'microwave' is also described. The Marconi experiments, dated 1894, demonstrated the feasibility of a practical radio link using lower frequencies. The working with high frequencies allowed for the study of the quasi-optical propagation of electromagnetic waves and the utilization of parabolic reflectors and waveguides.

Abstract
The history of radio communication is presented till the description of the first land sea microwave links realized by Guglielmo Marconi in 1932. The early microwave applications and first use of word 'microwave' is also described. The Marconi experiments, dated 1894, demonstrated the feasibility of a practical radio link using lower frequencies. The working with high frequencies allowed for the study of the quasi-optical propagation of electromagnetic waves and the utilization of parabolic reflectors and waveguides.I documenti in FLORE sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
