This paper investigates the relationship among KS enablers and KS processes through an explorative analysis; we analyze data collected from a survey conducted with a sample of 318 knowledge workers from 14 knowledge-intensive companies based in Tuscany (Italy) and operating in international markets. Theoretically, this study proposes a set of enablers to empirically link micro and macro organizational mechanisms to KS. From a managerial perspective, it can improve understanding and practice of organizational management of KS and, consequently, help those who are dealing with organizational strategies by establishing a successful KS activity.

Abstract

This paper investigates the relationship among KS enablers and KS processes through an explorative analysis; we analyze data collected from a survey conducted with a sample of 318 knowledge workers from 14 knowledge-intensive companies based in Tuscany (Italy) and operating in international markets. Theoretically, this study proposes a set of enablers to empirically link micro and macro organizational mechanisms to KS. From a managerial perspective, it can improve understanding and practice of organizational management of KS and, consequently, help those who are dealing with organizational strategies by establishing a successful KS activity.
