In this paper our efforts are specifically directed towards building experimental designs by using observational data in a technological field when data has already been collected for other purposes and the experimental planning must be carried out with a limited budget. In this respect, it is quite common for the industry to continuously collect large data-sets over time, also called observational data, in which observations on factors, or independent variables, and response values are collected to test the quality (sometimes also the reliability) of the product. Nevertheless, the difficulties of our study are related to the fundamental theory on which the design of experiment is based.

Abstract
In this paper our efforts are specifically directed towards building experimental designs by using observational data in a technological field when data has already been collected for other purposes and the experimental planning must be carried out with a limited budget. In this respect, it is quite common for the industry to continuously collect large data-sets over time, also called observational data, in which observations on factors, or independent variables, and response values are collected to test the quality (sometimes also the reliability) of the product. Nevertheless, the difficulties of our study are related to the fundamental theory on which the design of experiment is based.I documenti in FLORE sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
