This work reports part of the results achieved within the Life+ project “Upgrading of landfillGAS for LOWering CO2 emissions” (UGAS-LOWCO2) concerning an innovative method for biogas upgrading with CO2 capture and storage. The method illustrated in this paper is the Alkali with regeneration (AwR) process. According to this process, CO2 is removed from biogas by means of chemical absorption and the spent solution is regenerated by means of accelerated carbonation of APC residues, which are originated by the treatment of waste incineration flue gas. A specific pilot plant was designed and built for the experimental tests. This paper presents the main results of the pilot-scale experiments carried out to evaluate the performance of the absorption stage and the effect of changing the concentration of the reagent on the absorption and regeneration steps. Furthermore, the process performance was tested by using regenerated solutions.

Abstract
Furthermore, the process performance was tested by using regenerated solutions.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
