In this paper we present an experimental campaign which shows how a real-time location system based on UltraWide Band (UWB) impulses can be fruitfully used to collect cinematic parameters in order to objectively define the health status of an athlete. A commercial UWB system has been used to monitor the performance of a professional athlete during the recovering time after a surgery. The cinematic data has been processed in order to have all the performance comparable. This work demonstrates that the UWB localization can be efficiently used not only to show the improvements in the muscular capacity but also to give them a numerical value.
