Abstract

From strumental survey to structural survey: the Real Church of San Lorenzo in Turin. Turin, capital of the Sabaudian and Italian State, is a city of art where Guarino Guarini expressed his specific and puculiar architecture. He was the exponent of the most prestigious Baroque mature, he promoted and made international this movement in Europe (from Portugal to Poland). Guarini, architect of the Sacra Sindone, realized with flair and innovative architectural and structural solutions the Real Church of San Lorenzo (1668-1687), a contamination of elements of art skilfully evoked and reinterpreted. Actor of the Vitruvian lesson, he expresses the "quod significatur" and "quod significat" interpolating different sciences known: architecture as a synthesis of the arts, the only one who can better express the religious tension towards the Divine. We made an integrated survey, that is the basis for the design and synthesis of data for understanding and interpretation of complex architectural design influenced by the geosofical, mathematical, astronomical and theological thought. The research suggests the importance of art and multimedia applications not only as a measure, but also as a strategy to read and represent information of the project. Various stages of work: project pad, laser scanning architecture (technical LIDAR), geo-referenced data, survey data processing, analysis and verification of geometric surfaces "apparent" solid geometry and structural modeling, light and their symbols.
