A green chemistry approach to deal with waste tires is their pyrolysis to produce new raw materials or energy avoiding any hazard for environment. Microwave (MW) pyrolysis of tires was run obtaining a solid, a liquid and a gas having high calorific values. The three products were a carbon containing powder, a low viscosity oil (<2.9 cP) and a mixture of light hydrocarbons and hydrogen.
