This work focuses on quality assessment of fusion of hyperspectral (HS) images with high-resolution panchromatic (Pan) data. A novel fidelity index suitable for HS images is defined from the theory of hypercomplex numbers (2 n-ons). Both spectral and spatial distortion measurements are encapsulated in a unique score index. Some fusion methods capable to selectively inject spatial-frequencies from the higher-resolution Pan image to the coarser HS bands are used for testing and comparisons. Experimental results are presented on Hyperion and ALI data sets.

Abstract
This work focuses on quality assessment of fusion of hyperspectral (HS) images with high-resolution panchromatic (Pan) data. A novel fidelity index suitable for HS images is defined from the theory of hypercomplex numbers (2 n-ons). Both spectral and spatial distortion measurements are encapsulated in a unique score index. Some fusion methods capable to selectively inject spatial-frequencies from the higher-resolution Pan image to the coarser HS bands are used for testing and comparisons. Experimental results are presented on Hyperion and ALI data sets.I documenti in FLORE sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
