After the L‟Aquila earthquake (06/04/2009), the authors were committed in the area of Castelnuovo, a hamlet of San Pio delle Camere (about 20 km on the East side of L‟Aquila), where the event caused 5 deaths and serious damages to the buildings. The work, carried out in the period 2009-2011, can be summarized in the following steps: geometrical and structural relief of the buildings (102 aggregates and 324 structural units), hypothesis on the formation and evolution of the aggregate, identification of the collapse mechanisms, evaluation of the seismic vulnerability and damage level (with reference to EMS-98 scale), statistical elaboration and GIS representation of the data. In this paper main results of the activity are shown, with reference to the whole village. Then the methodology of survey is described, considering the case study of an aggregate. The outcomes of the structural analysis are presented, leading to define the intervention proposals to obtain the seismic improvement of the building. This procedure, applied to the all aggregates, provide an important “database” about seismic behavior of ancient masonry buildings.

Abstract
This procedure, applied to the all aggregates, provide an important “database” about seismic behavior of ancient masonry buildings.I documenti in FLORE sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
