Following radical resection of gastroesophageal junction (GEJ) adenocarcinoma, a meta-analysis of individual data demonstrated better survival in patients treated with fluoropyrimidine regimens compared to surgery alone. ITACA-S trials is an Italian, no profit, multicentre, randomized, open-label, superiority phase III stydy aimed at evaluating whether a more intensive postoperative chemotherapy has better efficacy, when replaces fluoropyrimidine.
