The article presents the results of experimentation of collaborative-operational design ICT tools, Lean Processes and Green Building Techniques for the Pisa’s Galileo Galilei airport’s terminal. The project aims to reduce Green House Gases emissions, CO2 production and resource consumption improving as well the operational efficiency of the terminal building. The design process was developed accordingly with the Italian regulations for public works, along with domestic and international technical references. The industrial objective in this work is the combination of functional and operational flexibility of the terminal with the architectural image, keeping expected times, costs and environmental impact levels during the life cycle of the building through the share of information generated during the design process. The project for Pisa’s airport is proposed as a pilot renovation project that brings into play Information Modeling and project output control operative-collaborative tools in Green Terminal Design. The air transport industry has made significant strides in the field of environmental impact assessment. Many airports have introduced green solutions, achieving important goals in carbon neutrality and environmental accreditation. Environmental targets are critical to the Research and Development Framework Programme Horizon 2020, as underlined by the Italian and EU Construction Technology Platform. The airport is considered to be a critical system in terms of sustainability. The methods used in the design application refer to collaborative procedures for design development, to the information sharing management and project information modeling sharing during building service life. These include self-monitoring of the project output that has enabled the slimming down of project flow, data analysis and targeted problem solving that led to the determination of technical solutions. Possible project developments for the application of this successful design methodology and ICT collaborative tools may relate to more specific applications that adopt Lean Design techniques and collaborative information modeling and sharing tools to achieve the sustainability targets foreseen by the to-be Horizon 2020 framework, integrating these tools into Building Information Modeling & Management.

Abstract
Possible project developments for the application of this successful design methodology and ICT collaborative tools may relate to more specific applications that adopt Lean Design techniques and collaborative information modeling and sharing tools to achieve the sustainability targets foreseen by the to-be Horizon 2020 framework, integrating these tools into Building Information Modeling & Management.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
