As part of study of possible relationships between the stygobitic fauna of the cave "Buca del Danese" and its microbial flora, research was conducted to determine the presence of aerobic bacteria both in water and in muds as well as in the isopod Stenasellus racovitzai. The results showed the presence of the following families: Enterobacteriaceae (gen. Escherichia, Pasteurella, Klebsiella, Enterobacter), Vibrionaceae (gen. Aeromonas), Pseudomonadaceae (gen. Pseudomonas), Bacillaceae (gen. Bacillus), and Micrococcaceae (gen. Staphylococcus).

Abstract
