Between the twentieth and the twenty-first century, the research in the field of history of education has changed in many ways: we can observe a deep specialisation, a more ample variety of methodologies and moreover the greater importance of international context. This text has its main objective in the description of the Italian community of scholars: their path over a period of time, their characteristics and presence in the top international journals.
