What matters for knowledge sharing in manifacturing sectors

Knowledge is considered as a critical resource that can provide sustainable competitive advantage in dynamic economy. In this regard, the literature stresses that the value of knowledge resources increases when they are shared with others. Thus, among the activities for managing knowledge-based resources, knowledge sharing (KS) emerges as a key process through which employees can mutually exchange their knowledge, contribute to firm’s innovation and convert their personal knowledge into a collective one. This paper investigates the relationship between KS enablers and KS processes through an explorative analysis; we empirically analyzed web-survey data collected from a sample of 318 knowledge workers selected across 14 knowledgeintensive manufacturing companies located in Tuscany (Italy) and operating in international markets.
