The composition and the characteristics of the Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) is affected by various factors, including regional differences, climate, extent of recycling, collection frequency, season and cultural practices. It is also known as the waste variability could affect the treatment processes. This work focuses on the influence of waste variability on the potential biogas production of the Organic Fraction of the municipal solid waste (OF). In particular, the aim of this study is to understand how, according with experimental evidence, the seasonality and the collection system implemented could affect the expected biogas production from industrial plant. In the research, the source sorted OF (SS_OF) from two different municipalities was studied. At three different times of the year were sampled the SS_OF collected in the two town. For each samples composition analysis were done and test of Biochemical Methane Potential were performed for each samples.
